Defaced dollar bills, February, 2017. I created these for ConArtist Collective's upcoming defaced currency show, and really enjoy working within pre-determined size formats such as what the dollar bill imposes. Defacing currency feels like a very different political act than it did last year. I feel like a citizen of a completely changed (and defiled) country, so maybe defaced currency makes sense in 2017. Defacing currency also feels mush riskier than it did before Trump's inauguration re: enforcement of 18 USC § 33.
